ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses Assessment of the significance of environmental aspects and impacts. It includes register of legal and other requirements, emergency preparedness and response procedure, monitoring and measurement (MM) of environmental operational controls, qualitative assessment template, quantitative assessment template, evaluation of positive aspects, and register of environmental aspects. When controls or modifications to existing controls are established, the cross-functional team uses the following guide to formulate an action plan: no actions, control or maintain, improve, and study or investigate. Reviewing the continuing suitability of aspects and impacts at least annually or after: MM of the EMS; work practice, equipment, products and services changes; regulatory changes; and audit results and regulatory feedback.
