ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the use of phone, voicemail, and fax. It describes the use of manager information systems, Information Technology (IT) staff, and employees. The responsibility of the manager information systems is to purchase, organise the installation and support of ABCCL’s phone systems, voicemail systems and fax devices and authorise the use of third-party telecommunication providers, if necessary. The chapter includes policies and procedures manual, privacy and the use of ABCCL resources, employee handbook, workplace practices, and usage of ABCCL IT resources. IT Manager and the Department Manager should determine which employees may have direct lines to their offices for business use. Except in the case of employees provided with direct lines all outgoing calls shall be directed via the switchboard.
