ABSTRACT

The final product of any healthcare information technology (HIT or health IT) evaluation project is a report in the broad sense of the word. Depending on their main goals, evaluation reports could have different focuses and target audiences. A final evaluation report has a readership that extends beyond stakeholders—people with vested interests. Structuring a publication is the most difficult part of writing whether the document in question is a report, a scientific paper, or a fiction novel. Scientific papers in medical journals typically follow the IMRAD structure: Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion. Infographics are intended to present information quickly and clearly. Infographics should be used wisely in brief executive reports, white papers, and newsletters, and on websites. The media and government agencies currently use infographics to support messages and get points across to their audiences.
