ABSTRACT

The eventual goal of any evaluation is to show the impact of technology on the real-world problem in a typical situation. Efficacy studies are performed in a highly controlled environment with highly compliant participants. In clinical research, such studies are called explanatory trials or Phase I or II of clinical trials. In the context of HIT evaluation, it could be organized around a specific task of a component of the clinical workflow. Scientific journal articles could serve as great examples of a methodology and analysis plan. No other HIT questions have garnered more attention in recent years than information security. The up-to-date statistics show that in 2015, data breaches in the United States totaling more than 112 million health records affected approximately 34.7% of the population.
