The goal of Chapter 6 is to inspire students to work in their careers for solutions that realize ecological sustainability, community well-being and individual happiness. The chapter begins with an overview of the Anthropocene era and then delves into global problems of climate change, human population and the ecological footprint with a view towards actions that are being undertaken to solve these problems. Models for sustainable business are presented, as well as the concepts of externalities and technology as a savior. The chapter concludes with the suggestion that students work towards solutions to sustainability in their work in ways that make them happy.
