ABSTRACT
Focus means target and the starting point to start another work. There is a focus shifting in lean development. In the Ford era, the focus was on automation and mass production. When Deming appeared, the focus shifted to quality. The development of directed organization was no longer about producing as many products as possible, but producing quality products even if they have to sacrifice quantity. First, focus may present in various dimensions. Quantity and quality are only a number and a dimension, respectively. Again, the practical focus of lean is waste reduction. Reduction is a verb. It is not an input or output, but a process of converting input into output. Focus on input is rarely conducted by organizations. Business organizations generally focus on their output or products.
