ABSTRACT

This chapter continues with the concept of interaction and re-interprets the narratives through the lenses of Dewey's transactionalism and Bandura's theory of emergent interactive agency. Building on the multifaceted interactional functions experienced by the online postgraduate students in our study, we propose a shift from the dualistic concept of interaction to the non-dualistic concept of transaction, which more reliably characterises the complexities of the students' lived experience.
