There is a lot of traffic on this road – cars, lorries, buses, bicycles – and it gets very jammed up because this is one of the main roads through a big city. The author want reader to go up to their set of traffic lights and stand so they can get a good view of the three coloured lights – red, amber and green. The author want reader to check out that the three lights are in good working order. So look for the red light – see how bright it is. Then watch for the amber light to come on whilst the red light is still shining brightly. Nod when reader see it come on. Now wait for the green light – and as it comes on the red and amber lights go out.
