Leadership and management

Many texts still distinguish between leadership and management. This distinction is confusing, as managers have at times to act as leaders and leaders need to manage. This chapter uncovers the confusion between managerial tasks and roles. Leaders tend to be praised and managers criticized, resulting in the high demand for leaders and less respect for the role of managing.
