ABSTRACT
In this chapter, the reader will take a brief look at the rich history of business education from the early years to a period of reform and beyond. As we explore this history, the reader will also expand their knowledge around accreditation standards, the business school curriculum, and how reform has impacted business education as we know it today. Over the years, there has been a gradual shift from a focus on the theoretical, conceptual, and philosophical to the practical aspects of business education. By the end of this chapter, the reader will have a heightened understanding of the discipline and the events that have shaped the field.
