ABSTRACT

This chapter provides a discussion of electronic literature and convergence culture, illustrated with the case studies of We Called It Dirt and Look (FFEBCD). The processes employed in the production of the case studies are discussed in relation to the possibility of creating variable spaces employing such techniques as chance and repetition and are inspired by the DeleuzoGuattarian concepts of Smooth and Striated Space. Alan Kirby’s idea of Digimodernism is also presented as a consideration of the impact and sense of flux that might result from multimodal presentations of electronic literature and sound art.
