ABSTRACT

The ability to let go, to surrender, to move on and not let the results influence us is essential for healthy living and for ultimate success. There is a difference between being attached and being concerned. Attachment means we are afraid and that the element of uncertainty only intensifies our fears. Concern means we are focusing on solutions. The best way to be creative in our work and life, and the best way to succeed with speed is to be detached. Acting with detachment means doing the right thing for its own sake, because it needs to be done, without worrying about success or failure. One of the hallmarks of effective leadership is this ability to distance oneself from a work situation and to look at it with detachment. The law of impermanence states that all that exists is temporary; nothing lasts. It emphasizes uncertainty and unpredictability. Therefore, nothing can be grasped or held onto.
