ABSTRACT

This chapter gives the actor tools to be successful with every audition. It encourages the actor to focus on the joy of auditioning instead of trying desperately to get the job. It guides the actor to create their own personal audition rubric for success by writing down measurable goals. It discusses the appropriate wardrobe for specific character archetypes and it stresses the importance of dressing like the character without wearing a costume. It provides quick tips on what clothing to avoid wearing on camera such as stripes, logos, and busy patterns that will be distracting to the casting director. It explores how to wear jewelry on camera that supports the character and does not cause technical problems. It begins to give the actor a game plan to create their personal brand with a proven audition wardrobe that the casting director will remember.
