ABSTRACT

This chapter examines the inflammatory rhetoric of female terrorists. Hate on social media may be more dangerous than traditional discourses of terrorist supremacy because the influence of social media can reach hundreds of millions of people. Inflammatory rhetoric can be scripted (we call this scripted violence or stochastic terrorism). The case studies of the Weather Underground’s Collective Letter and Bernardine Dohrn’s inflammatory rhetoric illustrate how young minds were easily influenced by such scripted violence. The Symbionese Liberation Army’s inflammatory rhetoric is also examined.
