ABSTRACT

While the book focuses on the threats from climate change and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and the case for an ecosocialist solution, fully informed by ecofeminism, there is, however, another existential threat, as identified in tandem with the climate crisis, by the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists (2020). The book ends, therefore, with a postscript that provides some brief words of warning about the perils of nuclear warfare and the ways in which the barometer of its likelihood is rising with the new technologies available in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. These apocalyptic weapons, I point out, are dangerously and recklessly promoted by US politicians. Individually or together, nuclear war and climate change are potentially civilisation-ending, and as the Bulletin concludes, immediate action is required in the form of the immediate, focused and unrelenting attention of the entire world
