ABSTRACT
This brief concluding chapter reflects upon Neera’s role within the fin-de-siècle Italian literary context for the various positions she adopted and the significant contributions provided by her production. It offers considerations on Neera as a writer who strove constantly for literary innovation, reacting and responding to the literary and social issues and trends of her time, while also positioning her inside a matrilineal family tree within the fin-de-siècle Italian literary landscape, one that recognizes the importance of her legacy as literary mother to the numerous Italian women writers that followed her.
