ABSTRACT

Chapter 8 highlights a few of the many youth activists speaking out and acting for climate change. Their call to action has created not only change in the physical world but also a transformation of thought for all people on the planet. The most well-known young activist is Greta Thunberg who inspired so many youngsters to raise their voice to be heard. She became Time magazine's “Person of the Year” and has spoken eloquently to the UN and many other governments and agencies. Greta aligned with activists such as Dominque in England, Leah in Uganda, Licpriya in India, and Ari and Jerome in the United States. School children like Luna in third grade and Aria in sixth grade hold the torch of change locally for their schools and peers.
