ABSTRACT
It has been fascinating to trace the steps that have led to a point where the importance of children and young people’s mental health and emotional well-being is recognised. It has been inspiring to discover, through case studies and conversations, how much educational establishments are contributing to creating the right ethos and environment in which young learners have a chance to flourish. This chapter looks first at some of the themes that have emerged during the course of writing this book. It mentions the impact of COVID-19 which happened while the book was being written. The chapter presents a list of all the resources that have been mentioned and links to where they can be found. Behaviour should be seen primarily as a form of communication. For too long there has been an argument about the need to focus on discipline as opposed to trying to understand why a young person behaves in a way that is considered unacceptable.
