ABSTRACT

I have a friend Paul Ferrillo who always says, “We don't have a cyber problem. We have an English problem.” I couldn't agree more. If we are not using the same definitions, we will never be able to have a cyber conversation. In this chapter, we will take you through the wide array of cyber terms and introduce you to statistics that will provide context to our further chapters. This is a business book on cybersecurity. It will not get overly technical. I have chosen some key concepts that are critical to understand, and I have grouped them together to allow the reader to understand them in relationship to each other.
