ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we describe the news consumed by our study participants through their mobile phones. We report the types of news (e.g., political news, society news, environmental news), the source of news (e.g., social media, news app, newspaper), and the format of news (e.g., images, text, videos) our participants consumed during the study period. We also report statistically significant demographic differences, including age groups, ethnicity, students’ academic status and majors, and how they affect the types, sources, and formats of news they consume.
