ABSTRACT

Fear can be perceived differently by business owners, managers, employees, and trade unions. The consequences of fear may be common for all of them (e.g. stress, physical and mental illnesses, loss of motivation), but the causes of perceived fear and its intensity tend to differ. Employees are afraid of redundancies, criticism from superiors; managers are afraid of failure to achieve set objectives or to carry out tasks entrusted to them. Business owners are afraid of delegating power, changes in legal regulations, failure to generate profits. Trade unions are supposed to defend workers, increase their sense of security, but employees join trade union organizations because of perceived threats. Therefore, it is worth approaching fear from the perspective of various stakeholders in the organizations.
