ABSTRACT

This chapter builds on the findings and insights from the previous chapter and then takes into account the participants’ thoughts, reflections and strategies on how they negotiate with the global gaming industry and their respective game worlds on the everyday. An easier way to define the spectrum of this chapter would be to draw from De Certeau’s understanding of the everyday and use his conceptualization of strategy and tactics. This chapter, using the participants’ data, reinterprets the global industry as a constant site of contestation, where strategies and tactics are constantly reconfiguring not just game worlds but also the global practice of gaming and consequently the online and offline lives of players.
