ABSTRACT

In the blink of eye professionals find themselves at the beginning of the third decade of the 21st century, a lifetime away from a world they left in 2000. Whether they are a private business, a public company, or a charity or not for profit, they are facing the realization that their old business model is no longer enough. It may still work, but barely. This chapter details points that all organizations must now take into account when making decisions. In the 20th century, no matter the type of organization, if professionals had the right product at the right price and spent enough on marketing and distribution, then their chances of success were high. The public sector is becoming increasingly intrusive into business, and the public has become more responsive to the actions of all organizations, whether not for profit, religious, corporate, or government.
