ABSTRACT

This chapter concludes the book by offering a comprehensive discussion of its contents and elucidating the characteristics of the theory of action in the five school reforms for School as Learning Community. In particular, this chapter addresses four issues. First, it clarifies the characteristic relationship of Manabu Sato’s “action research” and the school reforms in Section 10.1. Second, it illuminates the diversity of the school reforms for School as Learning Community in Section 10.2. Third, it characterizes the spiral evolution of and “organizational learning” of the theory of action in the school reforms for School as Learning Community in Section 10.3. Finally, it characterizes the reforming lesson study in the school reforms for School as Learning Community in Section 10.4.
