ABSTRACT

This chapter examines the formation of the theory of action in school reform for School as Learning Community in the Research Department of Hamanogo Elementary School. It clarified the process to construct the theory of action, by focusing on the theory of action of learning, lesson study, and teachers’ community by Kazuo Hashimoto, Director of Research Department of Hamanogo Elementary School. Notably, the theory of action is established through “organizational learning”, which originated with Ose at Hamanogo Elementary School.
