Conclusion to Part I

The conclusion to this part of the book summarises how the build-up theory has been a particularly strong feature of cognitive therapy and of Beck’s work and notes the fact that Aaron Beck’s contribution has been especially strong in the area of theory, perhaps sometimes at the expense of practice. The increasing participation of Beck’s daughter, Judith, at the Beck Institute is noted and linked to the next part of the book.
