ABSTRACT
From reading American newspapers, listening to American radio, and watching American television one might conclude that America's day-and-night preoccupation with things Israeil and Palestinian is of recent vintage. One might even assume, incorrectly, that it is due to the influence of the so-called Jewish lobby, aided in its efforts by the Nazi Holocaust during World War II, the sorry plight of those Jews who managed to survive it after the war, and the turmoil that developed and still continues in the Middle East.
