ABSTRACT
The Romans sacked the Second Temple in the year 70 of the Common Era. For centuries after that there were people — I have mentioned only the Americans among them — who prophesied, prayed, preached, planned, proposed, pronounced, proclaimed, and plotted on behalf of the notion that the Jews belong in Palestine and that Palestine should belong to the Jews — again.
