ABSTRACT

In previous studies, students’ academic performance has been used as the outcome to evaluate the efficiency of education investment, but their noncognitive skills are always neglected. To understand students’ noncognitive development, this chapter attempts to find out their possible impacting factors, providing initial evidence before delving into confirming their causal relations. With survey data from China, this study applies the Bayesian Model Average (BMA) model to identify critical factors that may impact adolescents’ and children’s noncognitive development.
