ABSTRACT

Climate change is happening and accelerating. Its effects are growing. The primary cause is human activities like greenhouse gas emissions. There are no doubts about this global scientific consensus. The climate cannot be stopped from changing and there is no off button, but we can influence how much (or less) it changes. In relation to climate matters, John Donne was right to claim that our solidarity with distant strangers is possible, desirable and even necessary. It is imperative that we all work together. If mitigation and adaptation efforts should both be a part of a solution to climate change problems, the global climate fund is a proposal that does just that. Climate change justice requires each individual and every part of society contributing to that end. Only a positive engagement with grasping our reality and exploring the full range of possibilities can we rise to meet this greatest of all challenges.
