ABSTRACT
Chapter 6 discusses how the Pratyabhijñā intellectuals were aware of the fact that the private, first-person dimension of consciousness plays a crucial role in defining what consciousness is. With regard to this, the chapter analyzes the crucial notion of camatkāra (‘wonder’) and connects it with some contemporary understanding of phenomenal consciousness.
