ABSTRACT

Offering equality of opportunity to all sectors of the workforce is both cost-effective and profitable. Growing readers own means that organizations get the staff that they need and want. This extends especially to attitudes and behaviour. It greatly contributes to staff motivation. Organizations that want flexible working must be prepared to train their staff initially regularly and continuously. Employees coming into flexible working situations must be prepared to undertake training on the same basis. Training and development represents a mutual obligation - the obligation of the organization to see that all its staff are regularly and continuously trained, developed and updated. Industrial relations - or employee relations, employment relations, staff relations, staff management - is the system by which workplace activities are regulated, the arrangement by which the owners, managers and staff of organizations come together to provide the means to engage in productive activity.
