ABSTRACT

Sophisticated ideas do have many instrument and resource implications; these require understanding over and beyond purely musical knowledge. Further developments in pitch, rhythm, timbre and so on are also included along with creative and technical concepts. The keyboard may be used as a sound source for all the timbre and rhythm work covered earlier. Rhythm is represented by using an assortment of note values. It is important to allow the rhythmic ideas to come first and the writing down afterwards. A microphone and amplifier provide opportunities for experimenting with vocal sounds. Many cassette recorders have built-in microphones to make recording quick and easy. Echo chambers possess an engaging quality, and are easily added to a microphone and amplifier system. Transducers are to sound as a magnifying glass is to light. They are readily available from suppliers of electronic components.
