ABSTRACT
Although several choices are available when faced with calculating the structural parameters of Yt = J30+ pxXi + ei, the most popular technique is ordinary least-squares. That is because when we calculate^ and/?, so that Ze,2 is minimized, our estimates have some very desirable statistical qualities. These qualities are captured in the acronym BLUE - best, linear, unbiased estimators.
