ABSTRACT

If you occasionally have trouble spelling words correctly, do not be discouraged. English is a hybrid language, so some of its spelling is irrational. In a rational language, words spelled as differently as neighbor and labor would not rhyme, and k would not remain silent in knowledge. The two authors of this workbook have been writing textbooks and journal articles for a combined total of over fifty years. Yet almost every day they each use the dictionary at least once to check the spelling of a word. In fact, this illustrates the main way to solve your spelling problems. Keep a dictionary handy and use it whenever necessary.
