ABSTRACT
Real-life examples of writing, such as technical manuals for scientific instruments and owner’s guides for household appliances, often combine a description of how something looks with instructions for operating it. Assignments on writing tests often have this form also. You might describe a blender, a yo-yo, or an automobile and also summarize its operation. Such a paper is shown in the next exercise.
