ABSTRACT

When the graphs show trends, watching the confirmation and divergence of the averages becomes easy and interesting. Observing the areas of resistance and support, the investor can try some forecasting of the next day or the next week and compare the results to what actually happens. Planned strategies should be fully implemented, unless something happens to cause a change in strategy. A well planned strategy will be the methods used to achieve the goals and objectives of a well organized financial plan. The implementation of a strategy can take patience and time. In the words of investor Jessie Livermore, “Big movements take time to develop.” Selecting time frames should have some flexibility. It is fine to look at a year or two for the long term perspective, but the most recent six months, three months, or less can also have important insights. Intraday patterns can be meaningful in many situations.
