ABSTRACT
As well as finding out how these teachers organised their lessons and did their teaching we wanted to know whether this linked in with views about learning. How did these teachers think children learned? Did the teaching strategies they used coincide with theories of learning, or indeed ‘common sense’ views of learning? And also, what did the children have to say about how they learned?
