ABSTRACT
This chapter looks at the statements enunciated in the Qur’an which form the overall plan of the new message. These pertain to mankind’s position on earth in this life, the purpose of this life, preparation for the task entrusted to mankind, the guidance provided, the granting of freedom of choice generally and of religion in particular, and the raising of the dead and the Day of Judgement. The Qur’an announces in many places the eventual end of this devolution of power to mankind and their return to God to give account of their mandate on earth. During this period of trial, mankind is wholly responsible for running the show in this life. They have been given full authority. As God’s will granted mankind the freedom of choice, those who rebuffed Muhammad exercised their option by denying Muhammad’s message. Therefore everything is moving naturally.
