ABSTRACT
Psychopathology is the scientific study of abnormal behaviour. As such it differs from both clinical psychology and psychiatry which respectively focus on behavioural and medical management of mental disorder. However, it draws heavily on research material from both disciplines, as well as dipping into the literature from psychology, neurology and the medical sciences in general. It is a bridging discipline, which covers topics as diverse as stress management, brain biochemistry and molecular genetics.
