ABSTRACT
The history of people called “Arabs” begins, appropriately enough, in Arabia, but the scattered references to them that are familiar to us from as long ago as the eighth century b.c. became consolidated, so to speak, only with the launching of Islam, the last of the great world religions, some thirteen hundred years ago.
