ABSTRACT

Delivering a product or service that is functionally operational is not enough to rank people at the top of the list of suppliers. Successful companies carry on their business in a way that’s positively different from the competition, and they get noticed for it: Nordstrom for personal service in department stores and Hewlett-Packard for reliability of its computer products. Fast changes in technology and market demand create fast obsolescence of products and services. The traditional evaluation of a company’s strengths and weaknesses is accepted as a given and is a must in any organization. Continuous monitoring of the value of every one of our products and services is imperative on a global basis. Detailed effort is needed to keep up to date and to juggle technological features, quality, reliability, performance and price for the mutual benefit of the customer and the company.
