ABSTRACT

Frank, my campaign manager, often said, “Volunteers are like gold,” and it is so true. They are a treasure. People who give up a Saturday morning for your campaign will be engraved on your heart and you will never forget them. We tried to find projects for volunteers that would not be tedious and that had a beginning and an end. It is important for volunteers to feel that they are accomplishing a job. It is also important for them to understand what they are doing and how it fits into the big campaign picture. We tried to keep stuffing envelopes to a minimum. By raising money, you will be able to hire a service and take mailings outside of headquarters. Contributor solicitations (which were less than 1,000 pieces of mail) were processed with volunteers in less than an hour.
