ABSTRACT

This chapter aims to introduce: the concept of healthy eating, the five main food groups and everyday foods and sometimes foods. Healthy eating is just one aspect of healthy living but it is an important one because it: gives the reader the energy and nutrients the people body needs to stay healthy and grow, helps the reader to fight against infections, helps prevent diseases, helps their learning, improves the people mood and is fun and enjoyable. There are five main food groups to choose from: Vegetables, Fruit, Bread and cereals, Milk and dairy foods and Meat, fish, eggs, nuts, seeds, tofu. There are also foods that the people call ‘sometimes’ foods. All foods can have a place in a healthy and enjoyable diet but some foods are needed everyday and other foods should be eaten sometimes. .
