It is useful at this stage to take a step back and reconnect with the initial theme of this work about the differences observed in CEE and CIS countries. In particular, CEE countries have relatively longer experience in labour market policies and a good look at this experience may help to better focus on labour market policies in Kazakhstan, their scope, meaning and effectiveness. Labour market policies are evaluated in the light of current macroeconomic conditions and a discussion on future prospects of labour and the economy concludes the chapter.
