Since your last ¹ was writ, I find by one from my Lord that you are return’d to Battersea, & I wish that with change of place you may have different weather. the bawble you talk of, whatever it is, will be very agreable to me, since it comes from one whom I love entirely; and I thank you for taking y^e trouble of sending y^e Receit to pickle pumpkins, ² which we took for melons. the Marq:[uise] is preparing to execute it, &, which will surprize you more, is able w^th very little help to translate it. the weddings you tell me of interest me very little, but there is one which I should be extreamly glad to hear of, pourvu que le marié repondit au merite de la mariée. ³
