y^r letter my dear Friend of y^e 6^th _of y^e last month came safe to my hands, ¹ and I hope that this will have as good success in going to yours, for a correspondence, as innocent as ours, may be inspected, but should not I think be interrupted. the Marquise joyns with me in renewing our hearty congratulations upon the perfect recovery of Lady Katherine, to whom you will be so good as to make our most tender compliments. she bids me add that since I writ to you, she has recollected M^e de Monbazon, ² & several other women, besides M^e de Surville, who 34have had y^e very same accident as Lady Katherine, & every one of them w^thout any return or evil consequence whatever.
