ABSTRACT

NEW MILFORD, Connecticut—Sunday. A clean young man stands in a white gazebo on the town green, facing 400 youngsters and their moms and dads. The young man is Larry Reimer, associate minister of the New Milford Congregational Church. At his behest, the concerned people of Litchfield County in Connecticut have assembled to walk 10 miles around the periphery of town, single file when approaching intersections, for the soul purpose of collecting money to feed the hungry of the world.
