Landscape Institute members are also expected to actively promote continuing professional development for any staff they employ and to ensure an appropriate amount of time is devoted to such activities. The Landscape Institute periodically selects a random sample of chartered members to monitor in respect of continuing professional development. Landscape Institute members must also observe the confidentiality of clients’ affairs and the privacy of others and only disclose confidential information with prior consent or other lawful authority. Landscape Institute members are also expected to ensure they have security for electronic and paper-based records and that all data protection legislation is complied with. A Landscape Institute member may only withdraw money from a client account to make a payment to or on behalf of a client, or on the client’s written instructions.
