ABSTRACT

The goal of the deployment stage is to expand the principles and concepts of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) throughout the organization. CQI is deployed methodically from the top-down in a “cascading” approach where each higher component in the system provides input into the succeeding component. Training should be approached in a cascading fashion by beginning at the top and deploying it downward. Awareness training will be the entire organization’s first exposure to CQI, giving the senior leadership an opportunity to seize the hearts and minds of district employees. The major goal for such training will be to prepare and motivate leaders for managing change. The district quality council may desire to experience the quality improvement process itself. Once planning and training have been completed by a school-level quality council, then the council is ready to charter the first school improvement teams for its priority transformation projects.
